Multiple options for metal refinishing are possible on even the tightest budget. Here’s how to set your shop up on the cheap!

Most of my friends consider me tight with a buck. Never one to pass up a scrap of metal or broken tool, my shop is littered with stuff I plan to use … someday. When my wife decided it was time for a new stove for the kitchen, I immediately moved the old one into my shop. Since then, I have done numerous handguns with baked-on finishes, but lacked the equipment to do rifles or long-barreled shotguns because of the limited space inside the oven. I briefly considered getting a hot bluing setup, but balked at the space and dollar requirement for a first class operation. That idea was put on the back burner (pun intended) until a visit to the shop by a friend and mentor.
