Reaming .45 Colt revolver cylinder throats yields the best possible accuracy for using cast bullet loads
by Wendell Deaner
While it is possible that a .45 Colt revolver with cylinder throats measuring from .002 to .003 inches larger than groove diameter (.454 to .455-inch cylinder throats with .452-inch groove diameters) can give acceptable accuracy with the right cast bullet and load, it is also generally accepted that a revolver with sub-caliber cylinder throats will give accuracy referred to as “lousy.”
