Replacing The Extractor On A Ruger MKII Government Model

Ruger MKII Government Model are highly reliable, normally requiring few repairs and a little maintenance. Here’s how working on one created a new customer for me.

Recently, a well-used Ruger MKII Government model pistol came into my shop for repair. The chief complaint was a broken extractor. For once I realized that the customer knew what he was talking about, since he had a piece of the extractor in his hand and the other piece was stuck in the bolt of the gun.
