When a malfunction comes into the shop you must be able to track down and qualify it. Magazine problems are common with the 1911 pistol, but in order to isolate the problem and make an educated assessment of the function of the magazine we must know how the magazine works and where it stands in the 1911 feed cycle. Lets take a hard look at several issues involved in the 1911 and its feed cycle.
