There was no replacement buttplate to be had for this 130 year old shotgun, so a repair was the best option. Here’s how I repaired a Wm. R. Burkhard shotgun sent in for major stock repair.

When an ancient Wm. R. Burkhard double barreled 10 gauge shotgun came in for major stock repair, it also needed a new buttplate. The 130 year old shotgun had a big chunk missing at the upper right corner of its plastic buttplate.
Unfortunately, a diligent search failed to find a replacement part and all I could offer was an attempt at repairing it. My customer gave me the nod.
