Installing Shotgun Barrel Bead

Whether installing a front or central shotgun barrel bead, positioning at top dead center is the key. Proper drilling and tapping, as well as drill and tap selection, is critical.
Bead selection on a shotgun depends on usage. Bead sizes vary, as do their thread sizes and typically range from 3-56, 4-40, 5-40 and 6-48. Bead material may include steel, brass, ivory, aluminum or transparent types. Having made the bead selection, choose the proper tap and drill, and then the method of drilling and tapping.
